Reese 16 – Vassar 13

Reese turned a pair of two-point conversions and a goal-line stand into a Greater Thumb West Conference win over Vassar.

Vassar led 13-0 at halftime before the Rockets scored two touchdowns with two important conversions for a 16-13 lead. Vassar drove to the 1-yard line before Reese came up with a stop on fourth-and-goal from the 1 with 48 seconds remaining to secure the thrilling win.

Trevor Gleeson hit Landon Klinesmith for both first-half touchdowns for the Vulcans. Klinesmith caught a 28-yard TD and a 10-yard TD for Vassar. Cheven Lesko led the Vassar runners with 78 yards on 25 carries, while Joe Folino led the defense with nine tackles.

Luke Foco got Reese on the board in the third quarter with a 26-yard TD run, with Cam Castle running for the conversion to cut the lead to 13-8. Reese Castle finished the scoring with a 6-yard TD run, with Aydan Raynor running for the 2-pointer.

ML Seminary 62, Valley Lutheran 0

Seminary took a 42-0 halftime lead on its way to the win. Carson Koehler scored five touchdowns, finishing with four carries for 189 yards. Ryan Dabe added a 34-yard TD run and 40-yard TD catch, with QB Wakefield running five times for 163 yards, including a 44-yard TD run. He also completed 3 of 4 passes for three TDs.

Michael Clare led the Valley Lutheran offense with 18 carries for 62 yards. He also caught two passes for 7 yards. Carter Rauschert completed 5 of 14 passes for 36 yards for the 0-5 Chargers.
